Sri Lanka wins the the International Currency Award

Sri Lanka is not bad as i thought... i was amazed to find this article on the sunday observer





"Sri Lanka Central Bank’s new Sri Lanka rupee currency notes series has been chosen among the top three new designs of currency notes worldwide. The other two were Peso notes from Philippines and Shilling notes from Uganda. The design contest was organised by the International Association of Currency Affairs (IACA), an international organization of central banks, currency-issuing authorities, currency producers and suppliers.
The contest is aimed at recognizing the best currencies that have been issued within the last 18 months. The currencies were evaluated on the basis of their design, including innovation and security features.The colourful new Rupee notes are available in denominations of Rs. 5,000, Rs. 1,000, Rs.500, Rs. 100, Rs. 50 and Rs. 20."
Congratulations to Central bank and team,but still do really like the OLD GREEN 1000 NOTE
